Before training weekly with Will I was on the verge of being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and had already living with a respiratory condition called severe obstructive sleep apnoea.
My weight gain spiralled out of control when I began a recruitment job working in London bridge where pubs and restaurants where at my doorstep. Weekday drinks after work as well as work nights out for incentives were a weekly occurrence. Living this lifestyle without a balanced diet/ regular exercise put my health in jeopardy. I made several unsuccessful attempts to lose weight using online tutorials I found from random PT’s on google search and YouTube. I particularly tried to follow the ones that gave unrealistic headlines like “How to gain a six pack in one week”. Nothing worked of course…..
Until I finally had an honest chat with Will in January 2022 explaining that I wasn’t happy and wanted to lose weight with a complete lifestyle change. Will was honest and stressed to me that this transformation wouldn’t happen overnight, however if I put in the effort, I could see results quicker. This was the beginning on my transformation. Will put together a weekly training plan for me and scheduled training sessions to clash with the nights I would usually go out with colleagues which helped me to resist the urge. He also sent me meal prep plans and smoothie recipes which I did weekly cooking on Sunday and sending him pics as evidence. Doing this consistently over 8 months enabled me to lose 4 stone (25kg) and reverse all my health conditions. Even my doctors were surprised at how drastically my health improved. Since training with will I have also ticked off several life goal milestones:
- My first boxing match in front of 2000 people.
- My first half marathon ran in 1hr 51
- Landing a new job with a big step in seniority in my career as a Healthcare Recruiter.
- Being featured in Men’s Fitness Magazine.
None of these achievements would have been possible without Will’s guidance. As well as a PT he’s been a mentor. What I love about his 1 to 1 sessions is they have a good balance between having a laugh and also being serious when its time to finish that tough last set!
